For 2022 we are pleased to welcome head coaches Maxime Ouellet and Scott Jones.
Scott Jones, Skills Coach
Scott has been teaching development for over twenty years and is currently the Vegas Golden Knights skills coach, in charge of Skating and Skill Development, spending the majority of his time travelling across North America working with Vegas prospects in the AHL, CHL and NCAA. During the offseason, Scott operates hockey schools for players U7 to U18.
Maxime Ouellet, Goalie Consultant
Maxime is a former NHL and Team Canada World Junior goalie and current goalie scout for the Florida Panthers. Max also oversees all development and scouting for QMJHL goalies and trains QMJHL goalie coaches, and has spent the last 15 years as the goalie coach for various Professional and QMJHL teams. Max is also the personal goalie coach for more than a dozen pro and QMJHL goalies.
Additional Goalie School Coaches
Marek Benda is currently a Goalie Consultant for the Toronto Maple Leafs and is the goalie coach for Toronto's ECHL affiliate the Newfoundland Growlers. He also trains minor hockey goalies. Prior to his goalie coaching career, Marek played professionally, in the QMJHL, and as a member of Team Czech Republic in the U18 & U20 World Junior Championships.
Dave Kennedy has been a goalie coach for sixteen years at the Atom, Peewee, Bantam, Major Midget, High School, Junior A, Major Junior (Acadie Bathurst) and CIS (UdeM) level and is currently the Director of the Atlantic Goaltending Academy. He was the Goalie Coach for the Acadie Bathurst Titan when they won the Memorial Cup in 2018 and is currently the head goalie instructor for multiple Minor Hockey Associations.
Antoine Samuel is currently the Moncton Wildcats goalie coach. Antoine played 4 years in the QMJHL and attended NHL training camps for the Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. When not coaching the Wildcats goalies, Antoine coaches goalies around the Maritimes!
Additional Hockey School Coaches
Matt Anthony has spent the past three years as an assistant coach with the Cape Breton Eagles of the QMJHL. Before joining the Eagles, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach in the NSU18MHL with Dartmouth and Cole Harbour, five years as the head coach with Newbridge Academy U18 prep, five years as head scout for the Yarmouth Mariners (MHL) and also served as a skills coach for all ages at Newbridge for 5 years. Matt is a Certified Hockey Canada High Performance 1 Coach and has been an instructor at numerous hockey schools both locally and internationally.
Andre Lefebvre is currently the Head Coach of the Halifax Wolverines Major U15s and has an extensive background of coaching over the last 20+ years. He has most recently coached with Dalhousie Men’s Varsity in the AUS (skills coach), in the NSU18MHL with the Cole Harbour Wolfpack, Valley Wildcats, the NSU15MHL (Gulls & Halifax), St. Mary’s Huskies (AUS), the MHL (East Hants, Dartmouth) and at various minor hockey levels, and was named the 2018-19 NS Major U18 Coach of the Year. He has also been a part of Hockey Canada’s 2017 National U17 Program Selection Camp and Hockey NS High Performance program in various roles for the last 10 seasons and also works with minor hockey players.
Keifer House is a former QMJHL and University player and has been a hockey skills coach for over twenty years. He is currently an assistant coach with both the Dalhousie University Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams and is a Certified Hockey Canada High Performance 1 Coach. Keifer was the lead skills coach at Newbridge Academy and has had the opportunity to work with several NHL players and dozens of pro players, NCAA, CIS, Major Junior and other high-level players. He has also worked with a number of minor hockey associations and players from U7 to professional.
Brandon Benedict spent five years playing for the Halifax Mooseheads and then played four years at Acadia University (AUS) and eleven seasons professionally in Europe. He is in his third season as the Head Coach of the Valley Wildcats (MHL) and previously worked as a skills coach at Newbridge Academy and works at various hockey schools with minor hockey players.
Paul Dagg is a Hockey Canada Trained Skills Instructor and Hockey Canada HP1 certified coach, and is currently an on-ice development coach with Xtreme Hockey, has been the skills coach for the Toronto Maple Leaf's East Coast Hockey League affiliate the Newfoundland Growlers since 2018, has worked with Hockey Canada U17, and operates hockey schools with minor hockey players.
Liam Heelis, a resident of Wolfville, NS, currently works as an assistant coach with the Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL). Previously, Liam spent two seasons as Head Coach of the McGill University Men's Hockey program. Before starting his coaching career, Liam played in the Ontario Hockey League for four seasons, culminating in an OHL championship with the Owen Sound Attack in 2011 before moving on to play for the Acadia Axemen. While attending Acadia, Liam served as team captain for his last two seasons, attended two NHL Rookie Camps with the Florida Panthers and won the FISU World University Games Gold Medal as a member of Team Canada. Liam has a background in skill development and has been involved at a variety of hockey schools, working with young players.
